Ballarat Review 25-Nov-17

Race 1: Sam Miranda Mares BM78 Handicap 1200m

Brugal Reward (1st) was caught a touch wide the entire trip, let down well in the straight and was too strong late. Royal Fashion (2nd) had a nice run just off the speed, showed a nice turn of foot, winner was too strong. Soho Ruby (3rd) ran on well, nice return.

Race 2: Isuzu Ballarat BM70 Handicap 1100m

Via Balciano (1st) settled back towards the rear, once got clear in the straight, only looked to be battling but really savaged the line late to score, nice win. Creativity (2nd) has ran well enough. El Rada (3rd) had a nice run in transit, hit the line well. Written in Stone (6th) had no luck in the straight.

Race 3: No Fuss Event Hire BM78 Handicap 2300m

Etah James (1st) had a lovely run just off the speed and was the strongest late. Tiger Tim (3rd) and Cedar Grande (2nd) had nice runs on pace and both gave good kicks. Not much to say about the rest.

Race 4: Magic Millions 2YO Clockwise Classic 1000m

La Pomme De Pin (1st) was simply too fast for them, showed brilliant speed throughout to win with ease, looks a talented type and can keep winning. Anthemoessa (2nd) had the right run in transit. Akkadian (4th) ran on strongly late. Think Our Toninicconi (3rd) can be a big improver stepping up to 1200m.

Race 5: Hertz Ballarat Vobis Gold Eureka Stockade 1400m

Swoopers race, the middle of the track ended up becoming the place to be. Tezlah (1st) settled worse than midfield, showed a nice turn of foot to put the race to bed, held them off. Mactier (2nd) settles last and has attacked the line strongly, deserves a win. Captain Harry (3rd) also found the right part of the track and ran on strongly.

Race 6: Suez Mckellar Mile 1600m

Royal Ace (1st) had a lovely run just off the speed, only looked to be battling but really picked up strongly late to attack the line well. Mount Panorama (2nd) settled last and ran on strongly. Siga La Vaca (3rd) sat on the speed and has fought on well in the straight.

Race 7: Maxitrans BM84 Handicap 1400m

New Universe (1st) had a lovely run and was given a lovely ride by Walker to slice through the field and was too strong late to just get up. Ozi Choice (2nd) led and gave a great kick, tough effort. Shoreham (3rd) had a nice run midfield and kept coming in the straight.

Race 8: Sportsbet Ballarat Cup 2200m

Brutally run race. Grand Dreamer (1st) settled worse than midfield, blended into the race nicely and was the last man standing. Oncidium Ruler (2nd) had the perfect run throughout. Grey Lion (3rd) has gone well enough, kept fighting. De Little Engine (4th) was the strongest through the line late. Mr Garcia (5th) ran an honest race.

Race 9: Magic Millions 3&4YO Classic 1100m

Debonairly (1st) sat on the speed, looked to only be battling for parts of the straight but has managed to hold them off, tough effort. Divine Quality (2nd) had a nice run in transit, winner was just too strong late. Senor Gaudi (3rd) ran on well late.

Race 10: City of Ballarat Tonks Plate 1200m

Got the Goss (1st) and Proud Wolf (2nd) both had the perfect runs for how the track was playing at this stage of the day and were both the strongest late, both had favours. Falcool (3rd) battled on well enough in the straight.
