Bookmaker Abbreviations and Betting Advice update
Just wanted to summarise again the abbreviations and assumptions in the SMS/e-mails for tips, and a slight change.
Going forward, to align with other services and for simplicity, assume all bets are 'Monitor' bets unless F for 'Take Best Fixed' is explicitly stated.
(F) = Expected Firmer, Take Best Fixed Price
Otherwise assume you should Monitor, as the horse is a likely drifter, but could firm
As always for monitor bets it's your call. You can monitor prices during the day. If not possible, you can take a part fixed and part closing option such as BOB, BTSP or BFSP. Or you can simply take those options alone, as most monitor bets are expected to drift or hold at least.
Of course, for the majority of you who still have a Bet365 or Betting.Club account, these are fantastic options that you should always consider for full or partial fixed odds bets, given they have SP or tote buffers, and offer great fixed odds.
On Saturday metro/city races of course you should always take BOB (which is best of 3 totes or Top Fluc), over BFSP (Betfair SP) or BTSP (Best of 3 Totes and SP).
The following bookies offer BOB:
Luxbet
Palmerbet
Betting Club
Ladbrokes
Bookmaker
Betstar
Bookie Abbreviations
Just a reminder regarding these:
In order to streamline things a little further given how many bets are sent out, the following abbreviations will be used to denote advised bookies (these are the only bookies used in official results and advice, as they are the most commonly used bookies by members that haven't banned or restricted most members). That's not to say they necessarily have the best prices available on any given runner as there are many bookies not being used:
Crownbet: CB
Luxbet: LB
Sportsbet: SB
Tab NSW/VIC: TAB
Topsport: TOP
Ubet: UB
Unibet: UNI
William Hill: WH
Bet365: 365 (note advised for NSW races only)
All the best.
