Race 1: The Big Screen Company Handicap 1800m

Khutulun (1st) settled midfield on the rails, made ground on the turn, got into the clear, knuckled down strongly late to score. Downhearted (2nd) sat on the speed, sprinted clear in the straight, looked the winner, knocked up late, grabbed in the last stride. Gallic Chieftain (3rd) settled at the rear and hit the line well late.

 

Race 2: Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude (F) 1100m

Enbihaar (1st) sat on the speed, sprinted well to take over and toughed it out well late. Oohood (2nd) settled towards the rear, peeled out in the straight and attacked the line strongly late. Seabrook (3rd) settled midfield on the rails, never got a crack at them in the straight, should have won.

 

Race 3: Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) 1100m

Written By (1st) sat on the speed and was wide, travelled up to them well in the straight, let down well, knuckled down strongly late to hold off the challengers. Plague Stone (2nd) settled three wide just off the speed, kept coming in the straight without being able to catch the winner, nice effort. Native Soldier (3rd) settled towards the rear and ran on in the straight.

 

Race 4: Ladbrokes TS Carlyon Cup 1600m

Gailo Chop (1st) sat outside the leader, sprinted sharply in the straight to put them away, too classy for them. Harlem (2nd) had a lovely run just off the speed, got rolling on the turn, stuck on well, no match the winner. Lord Fandango (3rd) box seated, was outsprinted, picked up again late.

 

Race 5: Kevin Hayes Stakes 1200m

Booker (1st) led, gave a great kick on the turn, kicked in strongly late, did it easy. Leather’n’lace (2nd) settled at the rear, peeled out on the turn, sprinted sharply, couldn’t catch the winner though. See Me Exceed (3rd) box seated, couldn’t sprint with the winner but battled on well enough.

 

Race 6: Schweppes Rubiton Stakes 1100m

Super Cash (1st) box seated, couldn’t get a run early in the straight, got into the clear 100m out, sprinted sharply to score, top return. Flamberge (2nd) led, kept finding in the straight, grabbed in the last stride. Merchant Navy (3rd) settled towards the rear, peeled out and made late ground.

 

Race 7: Hyland Race Colours Autumn Stakes 1400m

This race suited the backmarkers. Holy Snow (1st) was caught wide early, had to restrain to last, peeled out, sprinted sharply to round them up very quickly. Mr So and So (2nd) settled towards the rear, couldn’t get a run top of the straight, had to clip of heels to get into the clear, hit the line strongly. Astoria (3rd) settled midfield and battled on well enough in the straight.

 

Race 8: Ladbrokes C.F. Orr Stakes 1400m

Hartnell (1st) settled midfield, couldn’t sprint with them top of straight but get knuckling down and got up to score late. Single Gaze (2nd) settled towards the rear on rails, stuck to rails in straight, didn’t have the clearest run, hit the line well late to just miss. Brave Smash (3rd) settled worse than midfield, never got out till the 150m mark, attacked the line strongly late, should have probably won.

 

Race 9: Mypunter.com Bellmaine Stakes 1200m

Prussian Vixen (1st) sat on the speed, took the lead early in the straight, sprinted clear, got tired late, just held on. Flippant (2nd) sat just off the speed, peeled out, kept coming in the straight, knuckled down late to just miss. Petition (3rd) settled towards the rear, peeled out on the turn, kept coming in the straight without ever really threatening the top two.
