All in all this was a fantastic world cup for members. I was aiming for somewhere around 10% profit on turnover so to achieve over 20% on official bets was fantastic. We had some great future bets salute including Shahzad Top team Runscorer at $3.75 (1.25u bet), o24.5 runs in an over at $1.75 (2u bet) and a 3 way Dutch of West Indies top bowler in which the 3 bowlers we backed all tied to win returning us 1.82u profit. However if you were able to back Badree as advised unofficially at $4.33 on Bet365 you would have received a massive 5.49 units profit due to Bet 365 paying out Badree in full as he was the most economical bowler.

On top of some great future prop bets we backed both West Indies and Pakistan to win outright as well as make the semi-finals. West indies won both of these bets for us as at $9 and $2.40 respectively but due to Simmons being a late out for the majority of the tournament the price for West indies drifted a lot and members even reported averaging over $14 for them to win outright which added an extra 2.5u profit for those who took advantage of the price drift. Pakistan was slightly disappointing but the batting depth was always the query around this side and the injury to Hafeez did not help this.

As expected Australia and South Africa struggled with both possessing poor bowling attacks. The surprise for the tournament was NZ’s spin it to win it approach. As expected however the lack in class and experience with the bat was their downfall. England went deeper than expected but ultimately lost due to their lack of composure in clutch moments as stated in the World Cup preview. This is often a factor the market under values. A cricketer’s ability to believe in him/herself is extremely important.

We are now going to be betting into the IPL but turnover will be decreased somewhat throughout this tournament as form needs to be established between these franchise sides, however RCB looks formidable with a top 4 of Gayle, Watson, Virat and AB, it’s hard to see this team losing a single game when chasing and the $4.33 available looks like something we could easily invest into in the next couple of days.
