The Chances

India: Want $3.75 or more (Top Rated), Market Price $3.50

Deserved favourites of this tournament, on home soil and with a very well gelled unit this side should be winning this tournament more than any other. However the 3-3.50 on offer at the moment is too short. I’d want 4’s for any side in a T20 competition purely because of the major factor luck has on the result of a T20 game.

England: Want $9 or more, Market Price $7.50

I was very keen on this side and that opinion paid off in the first two white ball games against South Africa recently. However I’ve since got a concern on this team’s ability to be able to close out a game and handle pressure situations. The last 3 ODI’s and the two IT20’s that followed have exposed England’s composure which will be needed even more in the world cup. However this side has one of the best on paper so need to be shown respect

Australia: Want $10 or more, Market Price $6.50

A team on paper that has stars throughout the line-up, however the massive loss of M. Starc cannot be underrated, and this team was severely exposed with its young and inexperienced bowling line-up against tournament and fellow group side favourites in India. Bowling will win this tournament and as a proud Australian fan I just don’t think we have the bowlers to win this tournament without a lot of luck.

Recommended bet 0.5u Group 2 Quniella Pakistan/India at $6 these two sides are the shortest rated sides in the group for me so getting $6 for this seems too good to pass up. Betting against the classy Australians however so outlay will be small.

South Africa Want $8 or more, Market Price $7

Lead by the once in a generation athletic freak that is A B DeVilliers this side has a few seriously classy players along with some very average international players. Any team with De Kock, Amla and AB as the top 3 will be formidable but a bowling attack consisting of Abbott, Behardien, Morris, Tahir, Rabada doesn’t fill me with much confidence. Expecting them to bomb out in the Semi Finals with a little luck can see them make the final but that bowling attack will let them down.

West Indies want anything over $6, Market Price $9

One of Crickets head cases at the moment but this is the one international format that the West Indies care about, I was really keen on backing this side and did so myself earlier this month at $9 but with the late outs of Pollard and Narine they are now rated much closer to their market price however the majority of players make a serious living being franchise players around the globe and contributing to a WC win here will further bolster the pay packets they will attract, which is as good a motivational factor as any for these players.

Recommended Bet Back outright for 0.5u at $9 (Ubet), Back to make the semi-final for 2u at $2.40 Ubet, these will count towards official results.

Pakistan Take anything over $7 market price $11-12

One of the sides that I think is good overs for this tournament, they have a great balance of batting and bowling which will be needed to go deep into this tournament. A point of difference for Pakistan to other teams however is they have some properly fast bowlers in the line-up. Irfan and Amir have to be the best opening combination in this tournament for me and a bowler like Riaz coming on first change is a luxury the 2nd tier favs of Aus and SA don’t have.

Recommended Bet Back to make the semi-final for 2u at $3 Top Sport, this will count towards official results.
I am not backing them outright yet I think the market will wind them out one or two more points before the tournament.

New Zealand Would want $8 or more Market price $9

Massive improvers over the past couple years Brendon’s men have proved a formidable side of late and this is the side that dispatched Pakistan without too much trouble earlier this year in NZ. The key with that is it was in NZ with Big Mac gone as well this leaves NZ one class player short and on an Indian wicket which will operate differently I think NZ will struggle to go deep.

Sri Lanka Would want $20 or more Market price $17
A young Sri Lankan side is expected for the World cup with Jaya and Sanga retiring this has left a massive class drop for SL and in my opinion it’s hard to see them getting past the group stage. A lot rests on Dilshan’s shoulders with the bat and even more rests on Malinga’s with the ball with heavy luck they can contend but they will need the youngsters to play above their ability in my opinion.

Lendl Simmons $34/9.25 (4 places) 0.25u ew (0.5u total investment) at sportsbet. Silly odds for a man who loves to perform in India. He has an average of 49.15 in the IPL and will open with Gayle, out of form opening batsman are pure gold in these markets as they fly under the radar and you get some silly odds for someone that will get to bat the most overs in the tournament out of anyone. I picked Guptil for the WC2015 at $41 for this reason and im going with this theory again, silly value should be closer to $20.

Lendl Simmons $4.50 Top Team Runscorer 1u at $4.50 Sportsbet same reasoning as above
