Race 1: The Carbine Club Stakes 1600m

Levendi (1^st) had a nice run midfield, when a gap appeared in the straight showed a nice turn of foot to put them away, looks progressive. Sambro (2^nd) showed a nice turn of foot to hit the lead, the winner just too strong late. Irish Vega (3^rd) and Beau Geste (4^th) ran on well from the rear. Snitzepeg (5^th) was struggling a long way out but kept attacking the line.

Race 2: G.H.MUMM Wakeful Stakes 2000m

Luvaluva (1^st) settles back at the rear and was given a lovely ride by Shinn to find a gap in the straight and get up in the latter stages, nice type. Glam Guru (2^nd) and Rimraam (2^nd) both had lovely runs but have both still gone well.

Race 3: Skip Sprint 1100m

Lyuba (1^st) got a nice run midfield, showed a nice turn of foot, and has fell in. Savanna Amour (2^nd) has flown late to just miss, honest type. Concealer (3^rd) has gone well. Nieta (4^th) ran its honest race.

Race 4: Lexus Stakes 2500m

Cismontane (1^st) has scored a tough on pace win, looked gone on straightening but has kept responding, good effort but can’t see him being a threat in the Cup. Harlem (6^th) loomed and looked a winner but could not go on with it.

Race 5: Coolmore Stud Stakes 1200m

Merchant Navy (1^st) settled back towards the rear and has flown late to get up in the last stride, big win. Invincible Star (2^nd) was well backed and looked the winner before being bloused late, good effort. Formality (3^rd) has gone well.

Race 6: Myer Classic 1600m

Great effort by Shoals (1^st) to sit on the speed and keep responding to just hold on, smart type. Eckstein (2^nd) has flown late to just miss. Dixie Blossoms (3^rd) has also flashed late to just miss, had limited room in the straight, arguably should have won. Prompt Response (4^th) ran well, kept coming in the straight. French Emotion (7^th) and Heavens Above (8^th) both didn’t have much luck in the straight but there racing patterns don’t help.

Race 7: AAMI Victoria Derby 2500m

Ace High (1^st) settled midfield and was simply the superior stayer, too strong for them, exciting stayer. Sully (2^nd) has gone well, progressive type. Astoria (3^rd) had a nice run and went well enough, no match the winner. Pissaro (4^th) and Main Stage (5^th) both ran on well.

Race 8: Kennedy Mile 1600m

Shillelagh (1^st) and Tom Melbourne (2^nd) have cleared out from the rest with Shillelagh proving too strong late, deserved win. Not much to say about the rest, Tosen Stardom (8^th) and Egg Tart (10^th) both very disappointing.

Race 9: TAB Multiplier Stakes 1200m

Rich Charm (1^st) has won this comfortably, was held up but once got to the outside was way too good for them, great sprinter. Missrock (2^nd) has gone well but does struggle to win races. Man From Uncle (8^th) covered a lot of ground throughout the run and will take improvement from the run.
