Masters Update
With Spieth struggling at the end of the second round due to the harder greens abd crusty putting surfaces, one should expect that the leaders will have to overcome these conditions again in the third round, Spieth's game is based around phenomonal putting skills from 10-25 feet (8 metres), McIlroy's game is more secure from tee to green and thus I have him as the favourite at $3.25, I have Spieth at $4.25, these are about the market rates.
Betfair however sometimes get it very wrong when the scores are contracted like they are. The cut was at 6 over, ten behind, but there are many players with a great chance within 5-7 shots of the lead.
My value bets on Betfair are as follows.
Danny Lee ($42) Don't forget Danny played Spieth head to head last year and apart from a penalty for incorrectly placing his ball he would have beaten Spieth in each round. Early bettors on Sports Professionals woukd have taken $270 on Danny, but $350 was offered.
Scott Piercy - $50 looked impressive in tough conditions today.
Brandt Snedeker - $25, He should have won here before and had the best score today. Should be $10
Kiradech Aphibarnrat- ($160h the Barnrat has real talent scored 40 on the first nine Thursday but since then has matched the leader.
Sergio Garcia- $50- Sergio has had more chances than nights out, but he looks solid this week
Daniel Berger- $110- Very talented and finished strongly today
Smiley Kaufman-$360 Way overs, played sensibly today and one good round tomorrow and he'll shorten to less than $50
Berndt Weisberger- $250- Very solid player
Chris Wood- $350- Way overs
Brooks Koepka- $100- Moving in the right dirction and very strong touted as a major winner for some time.
And one for the real punters-
Keegan Bradley showing some form again and at $1000 its a longshot punt that he scores in the 60's tomorrow.
Players have come from more than ten behind here after two round and won and a number have lead.
This concertinaing of the scores represents a real opportunity for punters.
