Moonee Valley Review 23-Dec-17
Race 1: Mccafe Handicap 1600m
Royal Applause (1st) had a lovely run just off the speed, peeled out on the turn, kept coming to get the head down right on the line. Heavenly Descent (2nd) sat outside the leader, kept finding late, grabbed in the last stride. Miles of Krishan (3rd) led, kept finding late but really does struggle to win.
Race 2: Ladbrokes Odds Boost Exotics Handicap 1500m
Truly Discreet (1st) led, kicked around the turn and has held on to win well. Kardashing (2nd) and Pleasuring (3rd) both had nice runs behind the speed, both kept coming in the straight but never troubled the winner.
Race 3: New Year’s Eve at Legends Handicap 1500m
Ransom Money (1st) had a nice run just off the speed, loomed up strongly on the turn, kept fighting. La Volt (2nd) tracked the winner into the race, ran on strongly late, just missed. Vungers (3rd) showed good speed to lead and fought on well enough.
Race 4: $99 Summer Membership Handicap 2040m
Straight Jacket (1st) sat outside the leader, took over on the turn and kept finding in the straight. Multitude (2nd) had a lovely run in transit, had its chance to run down the winner. Shangani Patrol (3rd) ran on well late.
Race 5: Bertocchi Christmas Masterpiece Handicap 2500m
Dandy Gent (1st) sat outside the leader, kicked away approaching the turn and has held on. Ormito (2nd) had a lovely run, had its chance to run down the winner. Dornier (3rd) kept grinding away.
Race 6: Powerflo Solutions Handicap 1200m
Atlantic City (1st) sat wide midfield, got rolling early, let down well to score late. Just Hifalutin (2nd) and King’s Command (3rd) both ran on strongly late, they all had a strong tempo to suit. Essence of Terror (4th) set the solid tempo, gave a great kick just to be bloused late.
Race 7: Ladbrokes Vobis Gold Carat 1200m
Bel Sonic (1st) settled last, was forced extremely wide on the turn, and has attacked the line strongly late to score, big win. Aeecee Tong De (2nd) sat on the speed and kept finding in the straight. Teleplay (3rd) box seated, had its chance but looks a progressive type.
Race 8: Follow @thevalley Handicap 1000m
Murphy’s Reward (1st) led, kicked around the turn and has just held on, be careful following forward, had favours. Wise Hero (2nd) had a nice run behind the speed, peeled wide, knuckled down strongly late, just missed. Nasdex (3rd) raced on speed and ran an honest race.
Race 9: njt20cricket.com.au Handicap 1500m
Widgee Turf (1st) settled worse than midfield, travelled up strongly around the turn and powered away, a class above, very nice type. Amadeus (2nd) had a nice run and battled on well in the straight, beat the rest easily. Wall Street Wolf (3rd) ran on late from the rear.
