Race 1: Hughes Limousines Handicap 1950m

Silent Warrior was disappointing last start, gets up to a more suitable distance here and should be ready to peak but couldn’t get involved in the price on offer. Sandison is the horse on the up, was dominant when breaking through last start at Gawler, this is a big step up, but I think he can measure up. Sagaab is an honest type, will settle back and be hitting the line strongly late.

Race 2: Holdfast Insurance Maiden Plate 1400m

Coppergate resumes off a long break here after contesting some strong races as a 2YO, very hard to line up, market watch. It’s a Myth put in a big effort last week when given no chance, gets a positive jockey change here and looks hard to beat. Krupt Leda is racing consistently, will be on speed and battle away.

It’s a Myth on top but hard to have any confidence with the interesting McEvoy resumer.

Race 3: James Boag’s Premium 2YO Maiden Plate 1000m

No interest here with most of the field on debut, watch and learn.

Race 4: Access Hardware Handicap 1000m

Experimentation resumes here after contesting stronger races than this last prep, will be a market watch. Jaclyn is a speedy type resuming, should lead here and prove hard to catch. Beautiful Bee comes here from Victoria, can measure up here.

Race 5: Happy 50th George Mac Handicap 1400m

Ancient Echoes comes here for the Weir camp after a dominant maiden win last start, this is much tougher but can certainly measure up. Shrouded in Mist has shown talent, will take improvement from this run but looks suited. Box on Collins hasn’t impressed me at all in its career so far, looks unders.

Tricky race, no betting interest.

Race 6: Adelaide Festival of Racing 5-19 May Handicap 1400m

Tycoon Sofie is racing very well coming through strong form lines, will cross to lead here from the wide barrier and prove very hard to catch. Miss Identified is a nice type but her racing pattern makes it hard to back her with any confidence, will settle back here off what looks to be a slow tempo. Hazy Lane is an honest type who should just sit off the speed here and be amongst the finish.

Race 7: The Junction Handicap 1250m

Love Club has been dominant in his past two wins at the Provincials, this is a step up but will most likely lead here and give a good sight. Comfortable was dominant when winning first up for the Balfour stable, gets a big negative jockey change here but still must be respected. With Hope is a nice type, barrier looks tricky here but if the jockey can find a position early, she will be hard to hold out late.

Wide open race, staying out.

Race 8: Schweppes Handicap 1400m

Moghul Empire was dominant when winning last start at Gawler, the drop in distance doesn’t look ideal, but he looks to have a bit on this lot, should lead and prove extremely hard to beat. Reap the Benefit continues to race well without winning, will be amongst the finish. Silent Ice, Touch and Rowdy Richard are all not the worst at odds.

Race 9: UBET Handicap 1000m

Despatch resumes here after contesting some strong races as a 2YO, hard to line up, market watch. Akkacan had his chance to win last start but still ran well enough, should be on the speed here and give a sight. Classy Jack is an honest type who looks to get a lovely run in transit here, should be amongst the finish.
