Race 1: Schweppes Handicap 1600m

Skillful Steps is flying this prep, looks to find another winnable race but not sure where he lands from the awkward barrier. Mujaadil comes here for the Weir camp, has been racing well in Victoria, should be amongst the finish. Blue Morpho was dominant last week at Oakbank, this is much tougher but should lead here and can take confidence from the maiden win.

Tough race to kick off the day, staying out.

Race 2: Adelaide Festival of Racing 5-19 May Handicap 2250m

Sagaab is racing very well, looks to find a very winnable race here up against some stayers who are struggling to win, Kah takes the ride, I’m a touch concerned about the step up in distance but he’s the one to beat. Tunes is racing well without winning, will be on speed and give a sight. Robocop broke through for a win last start, can take confidence from that and be amongst the finish here.

Race 3: UBET Handicap 1000m

Can not bet here with Dark Villain the Corstons debutant opening favourite who has had no publics trial, will watch, and learn.

Race 4: Hughes Limousines Handicap 1000m

Entrancing went well first up in a stronger race than this, looks the class runner here, should be up towards the speed and prove very hard to beat. Streetcar Illusion is a nice type resuming, often goes well fresh. Federal Court should get a nice run just off the speed and be amongst the finish.

Entrancing looks very hard to beat here but the market agrees, staying out.

Race 5: Australian Trainers Association Handicap 1250m

Over Exposure was very unlucky first up, should take improvement from the run, if can settle closer here, will be very hard to hold out late. Charossa was impressive when winning last start, this is harder but can race on the speed here and give a sight. Glam Guru is a nice type, had no luck when resuming in a much tougher race, maps well here.

Good race with some nice types involved, no betting interest.

Race 6: Evright Handicap 1550m

Enki just continues to race well, looks to find a winnable race here, maps well. Captain Duffy is progressing well this prep, 1500m is still short of his best but will be on speed here and prove hard to catch. Saturday Sorcerer is an honest on pacer who will lead here and give a sight.

Tricky race, staying out.

Race 7: Holdfast Insurance Handicap 1300m

Mazurek is flying this prep, needs to keep stepping up but can’t knock a mare in form, will lead here and give a great sight. Cambridge Lady comes here from Victoria and is very hard to line up, Kah takes the ride which must be a positive. Pass the Glass can improve second up, must respect the stable when they bring one to town.

Race 8: Adelaide Galvanising Handicap 1400m

Tatoosh was well backed when resuming and got the win on protest, finds a winnable race here and looks the one on ability but will need luck with its racing pattern. Raheeba is an honest type, they have been riding him from the back lately, if they are positive he can lead this field and give a good sight. Exalted Traveller faces a big step up in grade here but is racing well and can give a sight on the speed.

Tatoosh on top but no interest in the price on offer.

Race 9: James Boag’s Premium Handicap 1250m

Exalted Adam is flying this prep, won well in town before contesting a much stronger race last start when being far from disgraced, this race looks easier, can settle just off the speed and prove hard to hold out late. Manuel is a talented type resuming, has been gelded, right up to this if he brings his best, market watch. Hussybay is a smart type resuming here, goes well fresh, right in this.

Tough race to end the day, staying out.
