Race 1: UBET Handicap 2400m

Chequered Flag was strong when winning last start, the step up in distance looks no concern, maps well. We’re So Lucky is an honest stayer who never runs a bad race, will be on speed here and give them something to catch. Falago can be an improver stepping up to the 2400m.

Not a race I want to get involved in.

Race 2: UBET Adelaide Festival of Racing 5-19 May Handicap 1000m

Azazel is a talented type resuming, finds a very winnable race here, goes well fresh. Will most likely go back from the wide barrier but looks to have a class edge on his rivals here. Invisible Girl is a nice type resuming, her racing pattern makes it tough to back her with confidence. Kabini has gone well both runs this prep, can run well again here.

Race 3: Dominant Breeders Stakes 1200m

Tequila Time is flying, must step up here and might have to work hard early to get across from the wide barrier but is a deserved favourite. Fundamentalist was impressive when winning last start, can go on with it here. Krone was good in a stronger race last start, big chance here.

Tough race, staying out.

Race 4: 13CABS Handicap 1400m

Set to Sparkle is a talented type resuming for the McEvoy yard, should settle on the speed and prove hard to catch. Tycoon Sofie continues to run well, can lead here, and give a great sight. Miss Identified can charge at them late if the speed is on up front.

Race 5: H C Nitschke Stakes 1400m

Peaceful State is a serious colt coming out of Group ones, finds a suitable race here, will go back from the barrier but will be charging late. Over Exposure is also a very talented type on the up, maps well from the good barrier. Debt Collecter is an exciting type on the up, will run well here.

Great race but no value, staying out.

Race 6: Holdfast Insurance City of Adelaide Handicap 1400m

Steel Frost has been a tough disappointing this prep, if he can find his best he will be winning this race but I’m just not sure how he’s going. Fox Hall is an above average type resuming, should race on the speed and give them something to catch. If there is speed on up front, Sudden Wealth will be charging at them late.

No betting interest, staying out.

Race 7: AAMI Chairman’s Stakes 2035m

Leicester is an exciting stayer on the up, wasn’t given much hope last start, gets a positive jockey change here and should settle closer from the inside barrier, the one to beat. Greycliffe is racing well, can lead here and prove hard to catch. High ‘n’ Dry was very good last start, will go back from the barrier and be hitting the line strongly late.

Race 8: Murray & Barb Stewart 60th Anniversary Handicap 1300m

Manuel was strong when winning first up and the form has stood up in Melbourne since, maps well and looks the one to beat. Hussybay is consistent as they come, maps well here and will be amongst the finish. Blue Tycoon loves it here on the Parks track, can burn across to lead and give a great sight. Nipperkin and Lord Topper can both run well at double figure odds.

Manuel on top but no interest in the price on offer, staying out.
