Race 1: 2YO Handicap 1000m

A race for the 2YO’s to kick off the day and Li’l Kontra is the current $2.10 favourite. Hard to have much confidence in a speed map with almost half the field on debut.

Blake Says: No strong opinion here with almost half the field on debut. Li’l Kontra broke though for a deserved win last start, can win again but looks short enough.

Lachlan Says: LIL KONTRA looks the obvious but I don't really get enthused at the baby races. Might have the tiniest of each-way bets on JOURNICA at $81. I thought it was almost a good thing at Strathalbyn last Wednesday at $21 but couldn't gain a run. Mum was a smart mare.

Race 2: Mares BM 86 Handicap 1300m

Mares race over the 1300m and Set To Sparkle has opened up as a $2.30 favourite. Flo Jo Snip likely leads with Lucky Flipper, Set To Sparkle and Pamela Joy all handy.

Blake Says: Set To Sparkle returns from Victoria, this looks much easier, maps well and looks the one to beat but the market agrees. Lady Silhouette is not the worst at odds.

Lachlan Says: SET TO SPARKLES form reads too strong for the rest here. 3.3L away at Flemington in slick time behind an honest G1 performer OREGON'S DAY looks a bit to strong for our SA bunch. MISS IDENTIFIED can swamp them late if they go quick and looks a nice place play but all over the favourite here.

Race 3: BM 86 Handicap 2250m

Race for the stayers and Valac is the current favourite at $3.60. Mitrust can work across to lead in a race where there doesn’t look a whole lot of pressure.

Blake Says: Valac was good last start, looks set to peak here 4th up rising in distance. Maps to get a lovely run in transit just off the speed and should prove hard to run down. Light The Waves received a brilliant ride to win last start, will need plenty of luck from barrier one.

Lachlan Says: I had something tiny on AZURITE in the Adelaide Cup and he ran a credible 11th of 19 at 200/1. This is obviously easier back in correct grade here and has the miles in the legs. Small each-way play at $14.

Race 4: BM 75 Handicap 1250m

Race for the sprinters and its an open market with Pretty Glass the current $4.40 favourite. Easy Beast and Won Ball look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Not a race I’m keen to get involved in. Crockett resumes, always goes well fresh. Wasn’t asked to do much in his trial, will settle back here but with even luck could be the one to hold out late.

Lachlan Says: Not a race I’m overly keen to bet in with scattered form lines and a few resumers. CROCKETT has never missed a place first up and is well travelled but will watch and learn.

Race 5: 3YO BM 70 Handicap 1300m

Race for the 3YO’s and its another open market with Aristocratic Miss the current favourite at $3.80. Stolen Away can lead with Grand Bernini and Cazabillie handy.

Blake Says: Tricky race with a lot of interstate form. Cazabillie has impressed me in her career to date. Maps to get a lovely run here and can run a good race rising in class.

Lachlan Says: Another race that doesn't interest me but should interest punters with some strong value and early moves. SPIELBERG has been $10 to $5.5 early in betting while the well graded ARISTOCRATIC MISS has been $4.2 to $3.6. HE WILL BOOM looks a promising type and could go on with it. You are getting the right price to find out. Maybe have something on all three of them for a return.

Race 6: BM 70 Handicap 1000m

Another sprint race and once again an open market. Equal Love who is aiming for four straight wins heads the market at $3.90. Celtic Blast can work across to lead with Akkacan and Equal Love handy.

Blake Says: Wide open race. Expecting a strong speed up front. Equal Love is flying, can win again but could get caught in a speed battle here. Chevaux settles back and if they over do it up front, can be the strongest late. Kabini not the worst at odds.

Lachlan Says: Strange price discrepancy between EQUAL LOVE $3.3 and WHITE KAPS $51. WHITE KAPS was knocked side-ways last start and went to the line just 0.7L behind EQUAL LOVE. Has drawn poorly but has speed to overcome the gate. Worth a small bet now and hopefully gains a run. QUIDDICK looks well placed here. David Tootell has this horse going beautifully and Jake Toeroek is riding at the peak of his powers. Nice draw to sit behind the speed and should produce late. Excellent each-way prospect.

Race 7: BM 75 Handicap 1550m

Race over the 1550m and Naseeb is the current $4 favourite. Don’t Dismiss and Mihany look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Tricky race. Naseeb is flying this prep, finds another winnable race, will just need some luck finding a position from the barrier. Lockdown Jack returns to the Parks track where he races very well, will settle back but with even luck and prove hard to hold out late. No betting interest.

Lachlan Says: ROSELLI STING never really got out until it was all over last start. She's racing well and the big field and some speed should suit. Happy to be with him on the each-way basis. The stable-mate FLOP is sure to be coming on the line again. Jason Holder reads outside barriers really well. He turns bad draws into good draws. Will be on both again.

Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1400m

We finish off the day with a race over the 1400m. East Indiaman is the current favourite at $2.60. Vegas Boulevard and East Indiaman look the main speed here.

Blake Says: East Indiaman returns from Victoria where he has been contesting some good races. Finds a very winnable race here, maps well and is the one to beat. Master Chum was a good effort last start, if he gets a start can run a good race at odds.

Lachlan Says: Got my boy ENKI in this at $31. Silly price and he's a happier horse now we have taken the gear off him. Should run well at a price. MASTER CHUM looks a promising horse but needs some luck from gaining and start and also the barrier draw. Hard race to finish but will be going around the favourite and having nibbles on ENKI, MASTER CHUM, REVLIS and DEXTER YOU DEVIL.
