Morphettville Parks Review 2-Dec-17
Race 1: Twilight Races – 15th December Handicap 1250m
Cruising (1st) sat outside the leader and was the strongest late. Tan Tat Flame (2nd) sat just off the speed and battled to the line well enough. Dexter You Devil (3rd) led and had every chance.
Race 2: Pridal Services 3YO Maiden Plate 1300m
Made in Russia (1st) had a lovely run just off the speed, presented well and pulled away, a class above. Hollywood Vine (2nd) led and has battled on well enough. They beat the rest easily.
Race 3: Horsman’s Plumbing & Gas Handicap 1250m
Sudden Wealth (1st) settled back in last position off a strong tempo, made a long sustained run to get up in the last few strides, big win, has come back very well this prep. Chapel City (2nd) had a nice run off the strong tempo, never went around a runner, had favours again but still looks to be going well. Meridian Star (3rd) led and has run a very good race to almost steal it, this mare is going very well.
Race 4: Holdfast Insurance Handicap 1400m
Ozi Choice (1st) led at a strong tempo and had a big enough margin to hang on late, good ride and a deserved win. Emmooki’s Dash (2nd) had the strong tempo to suit and kept hitting the line. Pretty Punk (3rd) ran on well enough off the good tempo. They beat the rest easily.
Race 5: The Black Doddy Handicap 1950m
Get the Picture (1st) had a nice run a touch worse than midfield, could not find clear running on the turn but once got clear air, sprinted well to put the race to bed. Have Plenty (2nd) has ran well again, going very well but keeps running into one better. Beau Rivage (3rd) has gone well enough. Really not much to say about the rest, no one in this field has any upside.
Race 6: UBET Handicap 2250m
Exalted Lightning (1st) sat outside the leader, took over before the turn and has held them off late, nice effort. Robocop (2nd) had a lovely run just off the speed, kept hitting the line late but does struggle to win. Ropeadope (3rd) kept grinding to the line. Calvary Gold (4th) was caught wide the whole trip, presented well on straightening before knocking up late, big run.
Race 7: Adelaide Hills Wine Race Day – 9th December HCP 1000m
Oamaru Owl (1st) sat just behind the speed, travelled up well on straightening, and showed a nice sprint to score, maintains his unbeaten record first up. Hidden Value (2nd) settled at the rear and has ran on strongly late, nice return. Irish Mint (3rd) raced on the speed and gave a good kick like he always does, honest type. Vicki’s Boy (4th) also ran on well from the rear.
Race 8: The Junction Handicap 1400m
Embecee Lil (1st) jumped well before being restrained back to last, travelled into the race like the winner and showed her nice turn of foot to put them away, promising type. Enki (2nd) settled towards the rear, travelled into the race nicely before having no luck at all in the straight, should have gone close. Lord Topper (3rd) sat just off the speed and has battled on well enough in the straight, has come back well this prep.
