Morphettville Parks Review 4-Nov-17
Race 1: Schweppes Handicap 1000m
White Kaps (1st) had the lovely run just off the speed and has just got up late to score first up, stable looks to be coming back into form. Jaclyn (2nd) had to do some work to cross them early, has still battled on well in the straight. Golden Lustre (3rd) was one paced but did pull up with post race issues.
Race 2: Bob Robertson Handicap 1950m
Tough win by Hussybay (1st) sitting on the speed for his first go at the distance and kept grinding away in the straight to get up, horse is going very well. Have Plenty (2nd) was held up at a vital stage but probably still had his chance once got out, good run. Little Akie (3rd) and Temps Voleur (4th) ran their usual honest races.
Race 3: David Loy Handicap 1400m
Lady of Crebilly (1st) had a nice run behind the speed but has put them away comfortably, looks above average. Deplorable (2nd) has ran on well enough from the rear of the field. Phelps Glory (3rd) looks to only be going OK this prep.
Race 4: UBET Maiden Plate 1400m
Cool Fonzy (1st) had a perfect run midfield, was bolting on the turn when held up, but Pannell found a gap closer to the rails and was strong late. Masipag (2nd) had a nice run and ran on well. Made in Russia (3rd) raced on the speed and has battled on OK in the straight.
Race 5: Dominant Handicap 1000m
Tintagel Rocker (1st) had a lovely run just off the speed but has let down well in the straight to win comfortably, horse is flying this prep. Really not much to say about the rest, the winner was a class above.
Race 6: Become a Member Handicap 1250m
On pace dominated. Vieira (1st) sat outside the leader and was very tough in the straight to just get up, nice type. Ballinaclash (2nd) was clearly headed by the winner and has fought back in the straight to just go down, had on pace favours but still a tough effort. Bwuva (3rd) had a nice run behind the speed, has ran on well in the straight, going well.
Race 7: Holdfast Insurance Handicap 1400m
Miss Identified (1st) and Embecee Lil (2nd) were a class above the rest with Miss Identified getting up in the last stride, both progressive types. Spy Decoder (5th) sat on the strong tempo and has battled on well.
Race 8: The Junction Handicap 1000m
Chapel City (1st) settled worse than midfield and has been given a lovely steer by Victor Wong to work his way through the field to score a first up win, did have favours but a good return. Good return by Zalmona (2nd) who has run on well in the straight. He is Golden (3rd) has gone well and is racing consistently.
