Race 1: Terry Howe Printing Handicap 2000m

Ace Attack is flying this prep, just continues to race well, if there positive from the wide barrier, he will prove hard to catch. We’re So Lucky is an honest staying type, can lead and give a great sight here. Sagaab is an extremely honest type who was ridden upside down last start, if they go back here and let him settle, he can finish off strongly.

Tricky race to start the day, staying out.

Race 2: Happy Birthday Joshua “Nugget” Hall Handicap 1200m

It’s Been a Battle is a nice type resuming, has trialled well leading into this and looks to get a lovely run just off the speed. Miss Identified is flying, her racing pattern makes it difficult to back her with confidence, will settled last here and with even luck will be flying home late. Beautiful Flyer is a smart type resuming, has not won for over a year now but goes well first up, if she brought her best form, she wins here.

Good race but tough, staying out.

Race 3: Medallion Homes Handicap 1100m

Murphy’s Reward comes here for Hayes camp from Victoria, has been contesting stronger races than this, Kah takes the ride, hard to line up but looks hard to beat. Sullivan Bay is the other runner from the Hayes camp, honest on pacer who looks to get a soft lead here, will give a sight. One More Daisy is a talented Mare who’s ready to peak now, will get a nice run just off the speed.

Can’t get involved here with majority of the field from Victoria.

Race 4: UBET Cinderella Stakes 1050m

Vienesse Star was very impressive when winning on debut at Moonee Valley, if she can reproduce that will be right in this. Downloads is coming through the Blue Diamond lead up races, this is much easier. Black Champaign was dominant when winner on debut, this is a big step up but looks up to it.

Very tough race, not betting.

Race 5: Schweppes Handicap 1100m

Mondo Magic is flying this prep, won a strong race last start, stepping back to 1100m does not look a concern, looks hard to beat but the negative jockey change is not ideal. Bolek is racing very well in Victoria, Kah takes the ride and should be on the speed. Tycoon Dancer comes through stronger races than this, should appreciate the drop in grade.

Mondo Magic on top but there are a few queries, staying out.

Race 6: Hughes Limousines Handicap 1050m

Jackanory had many favours last start and couldn’t get the job done, will improve second up in SA but thought he looked short here. Tempting Faith broke through for a deserved win last start, can lead here and prove hard to catch. Swiss Design looks to find a suitable race here, must be respected.

Race 7: Lord Reims Stakes 2600m

Etah James is very talented, was disappointing last start at Sandown, if he brings his best here, it will take a power of beating. Jim’s Journey is racing well but not winning, looks short. Exalted Lightning is flying, distance a big query but if he runs it out, very hard to hold out.

Don’t like betting in these staying races, staying out.

Race 8: Richard & Sue Dahl Handicap 1200m

Exalted Adam is low flying this prep, has been dominant in his past two wins at the Provincials, Kah stays on, barrier not ideal but with even luck I think he proves hard to beat here. Tildy Lad was dominant at Naracoorte last start, this is much harder but can measure up. With Hope can be a big improver here second up.

1.5 units – Exalted Adam @ $4.60

Race 9: James Boag’s Premium Handicap 1600m

Skillful Steps looks an above average type, has been dominant in both wins this prep, will prove hard to hold out here. Silent Warrior is a talented type, did enough first up, will show improvement here but might still need another run. Daktari had many favours last start when winning but looks to get a lovely run just off the speed here.
