Morphettville Review 18-Nov-17
Race 1: Trader 2YO Plate 1050m
Manzala (1st) sat back at the rear and has rounded them all up in the straight, nice debut. Raahee (2nd) led and gave a good kick, should be winning a maiden in the near future. No excuses for the rest of them.
Race 2: Wolf Blass Wines Handicap 2500m
On pace dominated with Instrumentalist (1st) holding out Tunes (2nd), both have no upside but can keep running well in these staying races. Flying Casino (3rd) was the only one to run on but does so every start without winning, can’t be following moving forward with any confidence.
Race 3: Gary Radford Family Handicap 1050m
Fancy Rumble (1st) settled back towards the rear off what looked a solid tempo, has rounded them up well in the straight, good return, can keep winning. Tan Tat Flame (2nd) has also ran on well from the rear, winner just too strong. Spiritual Girl (4th) looked to lead at the strong tempo and gave a good kick, nice run.
Race 4: C A Haigh Memorial Trophy 1200m
Chamois Road (1st) sat on the speed and has been too strong late, just keeps running well, the horse is low flying. Desert Lashes (2nd) led and gave a solid kick, lost no admirers. Tried and Tired (3rd) has gone well enough.
Race 5: Penna Michael Chartered Accountants Handicap 1800m
The two favourites were working each other hard up on the speed with Hussybay (1st) proving too strong late, is low flying this prep, has a great will to win. Wasabi Bob (2nd) worked early and has fought on well in the straight, going well. No excuses for the rest, top two a class above.
Race 6: Legacy in South Australia and Broken Hill Handicap 1200m
They went hard here. Redentes Edge (1st) had the perfect run just off the speed and has got the job done, had favours. Street Embrace (2nd) led and gave a good kick to just be grabbed late, going very well. Hussy’s Glow (3rd) ran on well, had her chance but a nice return.
Race 7: Zonte’s Z Force Handicap 1200m
Sudden Wealth (1st) sat back at the rear and has rounded them up in the straight, great return and can keep winning. Vivaldi’s Quest (2nd) has also ran on well from towards the rear, nice effort. Federosa (3rd) battled on well enough. Trogir (6th), Spalding Cove (7th) and Barood (8th) all copped interference late in the race and can all be forgiven.
Race 8: Consolidated Plant & Quarries Handicap 1100m
Military Forces (1st) sat back at the rear and has ran on powerfully to win well, looks a nice type and the stable is having a good little run. Don’t Cry Wolf (2nd) has also ran on well from the rear. Tempting Faith (3rd) has gone well, was the only on pacer to be amongst the finish.
Race 9: Happy Birthday Julie G Handicap 1600m
They looked to go hard here. Burrum’s Buzz (1st) had the perfect run midfield and has been too strong late, nice effort but had many favours. Cosmic Charm (2nd) ran on well but looked to have the tempo to suit. Really not much to say about the rest.
