Race 1: TAB Highway Handicap 1800m

On pace dominated. Mate Story (1st) led at a controlled tempo, travelled strongly into the straight, sprinted well to put them away. Fui San (2nd) box seated, battled on well in the straight. Royal Villa (3rd) sat outside the leader and battled on well late.

 

Race 2: The Luxury Network Pierro Plate 1100m

Santos (1st) sat outside the leader, let down strongly in the straight to draw clear, strong late, impressive. Exceltic (2nd) had a nice run just off the speed, couldn’t sprint with the winner but battled on well. Irish Bet (3rd) settled worse than midfield and made ground late.

 

Race 3: Fairfax & Roberts Jewellers Handicap 2000m

Almost Court (1st) led, gave a good kick, got tired late, has just held on to share the prize. Emperor’s Way (1st) sat just off the speed, peeled out and hit the line strongly late to share the prize. Zourkhan (3rd) settled towards the rear, peeled out and hit the line well late.

 

Race 4: ACJC Southern Cross Stakes 1200m

Kaepernick (1st) settled towards the rear, peeled widest, and sprinted sharply to take the lead, knocked up late but kept finding to score. Dothraki (2nd) sat just off the speed, took an inside run, challenged but was never going to win. Boss Lane (3rd) sat wide midfield, was outsprinted but battled on strongly late.

 

Race 5: Derucci Handicap 1600m

Quick Defence (1st) settled last, sliced through the field, got to the outside and attacked the line strongly late to score. Malaise (2nd) had a lovely run midfield, travelled up under a hold, sprinted well to hit the lead, couldn’t go on with it. The Pinnacle (3rd) had a nice run in transit, peeled out and battled on well enough.

 

Race 6: The Star Apollo Stakes 1400m

Endless Drama (1st) had a nice run just off the speed, peeled out and chased the leader strongly to score. Global Glamour (2nd) led, kicked clear in the straight, kept finding, winner too strong late. Comin’ Through (3rd) settled towards the rear, peeled widest and kept finding the line late.

 

Race 7: Robrick Lodge Triscay Stakes 1200m

Faraway Town (1st) was caught wide just off the speed, travelled up to them, let down well and has held them off, strong late. Zestful (2nd) settled at the rear, peeled widest, warmed up and has hit the line strongly late. Raiment (3rd) had a lovely run midfield, got clear late and worked to the line well.

 

Race 8: TAB Light Fingers Stakes 1200m

Alizee (1st) had a lovely run midfield, took inside run in the worst ground, sprinted sharply, got tired late but did enough, will take massive improvement from the run. Shumookh (2nd) was caught wide just off the speed, battled on strongly in the straight, kept finding to just miss. Torvill (3rd) settled towards the rear, worked into the clear and hit the line well late.

 

Race 9: Mostyn Copper Group Handicap 1200m

Suncraze (1st) settled worse than midfield, peeled out and was clearly outsprinted, looked to only be grinding away, picked up strongly last 150m to knuckle down and score. No Interest (2nd) settled towards the rear, was over racing, peeled widest and let down strongly to take the lead, knocked up a touch late and winner was too strong. Star of Monsoon (3rd) had a lovely run in transit, peeled out, never looked the winner but battled on well enough.
