Race 1: Australian Fire Hose Plate 1000m

Estijaab (1st) showed great speed to lead, let down strongly in the straight and powered away, serious type. Dio D’ Oro (2nd) box seated and battled on well enough in the straight. Tell no Tales (3rd) sat outside the leader and battled away in the straight.

 

Race 2: Nelune Foundation Handicap 1300m

D’argento (1st) settled on the rails towards the rear, tracked up behind the leader, gap appeared and sprinted well to score. Shumookh (2nd) led and gave a good kick, winner just too strong late. Wooshka (3rd) sat outside the leader and battled away in the straight.

 

Race 3: TAB Highway Handicap 1400m

Acquittal (1st) was sitting just off the speed before making an early move to take over, sprinted clear and held on late, good ride. Kopi Luwak (2nd) settled towards the rear and make strong ground late but couldn’t catch the winner, good effort. They cleared out from the rest.

 

Race 4: Happy 100th Birthday Louisa Baxter Mile 1600m

Cellarman (1st) had the perfect run box seating, gap appeared and let down well to score. New Universe (2nd) settled towards the rear on rails, peeled out and made steady ground. Get on the Grange (3rd) sat on the speed and battled away late.

 

Race 5: Summer Sprint 1000m

Memes (1st) sat on the speed, hit the lead and was there to be beaten, fought on strongly, tough horse. Boss Lane (2nd) and Palazzo Publico (3rd) both sat off the speed and loomed up strongly but couldn’t catch the winner.

 

Race 6: Liberty International Underwriters Handicap 2000m

On pace dominated. Carzoff (1st) had the perfect run box seating, gap appeared on rails and let down well to be too strong late. Vaucluse Bay (2nd) sat outside the leader, kept battling on in the straight. Chatelard (3rd) led and battled on well enough in the straight.

 

Race 7: Optus Systems PTY LTD Handicap 1400m

Flow (1st) had the perfect run in behind the leader, travelled up strongly and put them away in a few strides. Level Eight (2nd) settled at the rear, made steady ground late. Quick Defence (3rd) had a nice run in transit, battled away in the straight.

 

Race 8: Rebecca Louise Handicap 1200m

Faraway Town (1st) settled at the rear on rails, peeled to outside and let down strongly to score late, good ride. Fortensky (2nd) had a lovely run on rails midfield, let down well, winner too strong late. Insensata (3rd) settled worse than midfield on rails, made steady ground in straight.

 

Race 9: The Honourable James Caird (Tim) Bruxner Handicap 1600m

Maddison Avenue (1st) had a lovely run behind the leader, let down well and held them off late. Bye See (2nd) sat just off the speed, kept coming in the straight but couldn’t catch the winner. Siren’s Fury (3rd) settled towards rear on rails, made steady ground in the straight.

 

There was a strong advantage to be on the rails in run.
