Rosehill Review 9-Dec-17

Race 1: Merry Christmas ATC Members Handicap 1100m

Gongs (1st) was heavily backed, sat on the speed, and broke clear on straightening, looks a very talented type. Orcein (2nd) settled at the rear and ran on strongly late, looks a serious type. Charge (3rd) has battled on well enough in the straight, I think he will take a lot of improvement from the run. Really want to follow this race going forward.

Race 2: #THERACES Plate 1400m

Sparky Lad (1st) had the perfect run just off the speed, peeled to the outside and was the strongest late. Heliosphere (2nd) had nothing go right, was caught wide the trip and was over racing, fought on very well in the straight, big run. Star Sensation (3rd) sat on the speed and battled on well enough in the straight.

Race 3: TAB Highway Handicap 1400m

Magic Choir (1st) box seated, once the gap opened in the straight, kept hitting the line well to score. Gitan (2nd) was caught wide the entire trip, stuck on very well. Forever Newyork (3rd) had his chance.

Race 4: ATC Owners Benefit Card Handicap 1400m

Noire (1st) box seated and peeled off heels to let down well in the straight and has won comfortably, looks a talent. Miss Ballantine (2nd) settled worse than midfield and has ran on well late, should be winning soon. Queen Misty (3rd) had a perfect run in transit, every chance.

Race 5: National Jockeys Trust Handicap 2000m

Gambler’s Blues (1st) settled midfield in running, gap appeared in the straight and knuckled down well late to score a deserved win. Lead Choreographer (2nd) had the perfect run, let down well, winner just too strong late. Carzoff (3rd) settled last and ran on strongly late.

Race 6: Beanie for Brain Cancer Handicap 1400m

Invinzabeel (1st) settled just behind the leaders, let down well in the straight and held the Swoopers off late. Voilier (2nd) settled last and ran on strongly late, had the tempo to suit. New Universe (3rd) also ran on well late but had tempo to suit. Flow (4th) was taken on up front and weakened late.

Race 7: Mark Hughes Foundation Handicap 1100m

Test the World (1st) box seated, let down well in the straight and fought on well to score victory, can keep winning. Bon Amis (2nd) had a nice run and presented well, the winner was just too strong late. To Excess (3rd) settled towards the rear and ran on strongly late.

Race 8: 2018 ATC Membership Open Now Sprint 1200m

Drachenfels (1st) settled worse than midfield off what looked a solid tempo and has kept coming in the straight to get up in the last stride, horse is going well. Pipeline (2nd) sat on the speed and gave a great kicked to just be grabbed late, nice effort. Lanciato (3rd) ran on well late, should take good improvement from the run.

Race 9: TAB.com.au Handicap 1500m

King Darci (1st) gained full control in the lead and has held on, had many favours. Bastia (2nd) sat just off the speed, ran on well but couldn’t catch the leader. Cellarman (3rd) sat towards the rear off the slow tempo and has hit the line strongly late, great run.
