A fantastic day's racing across the country as the top superstar horses resume including Anamoe, In Secret and I'm Thunderstruck!
There is black type racing across four states on Saturday.
The biggest meeting is at Sandown Hillside where the first Group 1 of 2023, the $750,000 Orr Stakes, features resuming high class gallopers like I'm Thunderstruck, Tuvalu and Mr Brightside against recent winners Jacquinot, Gentleman Roy and Nugget. The $300,000 Group 2 Autumn Stakes has 9 good 3YOs where 7 of them are first-up, and the $300,000 Group 2 Rubiton Stakes has horses with high win percentages like Uncommon James and Chain Of Lightning running against Marine One and Oxley Road who ran 1st and 2nd last year. The Group 2 $300,000 Blue Diamond (Fillies) Prelude has a capacity field including 3 unbeaten runners in De Sonic Boom, Shaddow Fear and Dreamwoman, but the favourite is Charm Stone. The Group 3 Blue Diamond (C&G) Prelude has a smaller field of 12 with the unbeaten Barber and unbeaten Brave Halo getting to race each other. There are also the Group 3 Carlyon Cup and Group 3 Kevin Hayes Stakes both with excellent fields.
At Randwick there is the $2 million Restricted Listed Inglis Millenium with a capacity field. The early favourite is Learning To Fly but she has drawn out in the carpark! The $250,000 Group 2 Apollo Stakes features the much anticipated return of Anamoe - this is the race that Winx won 3 times. The $250,000 Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes has a top quality selection of 3YO fillies headed up by In Secret. There are also two Group 3 races with the Southern Cross Stakes and the Triscay Stakes where the field includes Norwegian Bliss who has 7 wins from 8 starts.
Ascot has 2 Listed races with the $125,000 WATC Challenge Stakes for 3YOs and the $125,000 Cyril Flower Stakes over 1200m where classy filly My Bella Mae takes on the older horses. At Morphettville there is the $107,250 Listed Premier's Plate where the betting is wide open and there is plenty of value. They are also racing at Doomben.
