Comments: It was another frustrating day of close beats with 3 horses beaten by 0.9L or less for a total of 20.2u.

Selection Review

All Banter $3.10 (1st for a 6.2u return) – she is a very nice filly who won well, she was heavily supported late into $2.45 from a $3.10 TF.

Overkill $4.00 (4th 0.9L from an 8u return) – he had a great run in transit on speed and it looked like he was going to kick off the turn but he couldn’t see out the 1200m today and was run down in the final 100m.

Plaquette $3.00 (UNP) – another disappointing run from a well supported Goldolphin favourite.

Through the Cracks $5.50 (UNP) – this was poor tactics plain and simple, Royal Celebration jumped from one barrier inside and went forward to race 3 wide and was just beaten yet Through The Cracks was taken back a further 4-5L to race 3 wide then had to make a big exertion to try and make up ground. He ran the best last 800/600/400/200 of the race but he was simply too far back, had he been 2-3L further forward he would have won after being very well supported $5.50 into $4.20F.

Great News $3.20 (2nd 0.3L from a 6.2u return) – well supported from $3.20 into $2.80F, ran well with the right tactics just beaten by a better horse on the day.

Sassy Trader $2.60 (UNP) – he is now forming a nasty habit of being slowly away which has cost him the race here again, it can be very hard to get horses out of this now (Overlord prime example) so he will not be considered for future races.

Jadentom $2.90 (3rd 0.9L from a 5.8u return) – another horse that finished off very well but was too far back in the run.

Summary

Another day where we were so close to a big day again with 20.2u beaten by 0.9L or less with the total now for the past 2 months around 140u beaten by 1L or less. It is very frustrating, but we will get the results swing back in our favour.
