The Week In Review: 22 - 28 October
Trial Spy
Week: 3.5 units profit (19.1% PoT)
Overall: 691.1 units profit (10.2% PoT)
3.5 units profit for the week. Tell Me was a great result at Canterbury (Friday). Espaaniyah also won well at Canterbury, and Magpie (Port Macquarie) impressed on Sunday. All are nice horses who will be worth following. We keep trucking along well with 115 units profit since June.
Looking forward to Saturday where Zousain runs in the Coolmore. We backed him at as much as $21 and he's into $4 currently.
NSW Tips & Ratings
Week: -4.7 units profit (-30.5% PoT)
Overall: 133.1 units profit (20.0% PoT)
The rarest of rare events for Mark… a losing week. From 16 bets we got a couple of winners, but six placings cruelled our chances of a profit. Still, with 113 units profit in the 2018 calendar year, we were probably due for a small bit of variance.
John's Analytics
Week: -3.7 units profit (-23.2% PoT)
Overall: 251.7 units profit (15.8% PoT)
Frustrating week for John after a solid past month of profit. Just the two winners this week – Kurumba (Sunshine Coast, Friday) and Cocky Rocky (Armidale, Saturday). Still, a relatively minor loss overall.
BlackBook Bets
Week: -13.5 units profit (-60.2% PoT)
Overall: 266.8 units profit (6.9% PoT)
A slight improvement on last week, but BlackBook is still in an unfortunate rut. We broke the run of outs in terms of winners, getting Second Marriage at Echuca on Friday, but it was far from enough to save the week. We push on.
Dean’s Tips
Week: 12.0 units profit (33.8% PoT)
Overall: 646.7 units profit (7.9% PoT)
Nice week with 12 units profit. Runaway winning the Geelong Cup at $41 was a highlight, and three nice-priced winners on Sunday also helped beef up the week. Takes us to 19 units profit for the month, and 31 units profit since resuming last month.
Zapurler was also a great result winning by 3.5 lengths after we backed her at as much as $101 in Futures for the VRC Oaks, where she now goes into the race as a nice chance.
Very excited about the upcoming Flemington Cup Week carnival. 4 days of outstanding racing to lap up, arguably the best racing carnival in the world, starting Saturday.
We have some outstanding futures bets in place. The strategy will be to back the dangers and build a strong book in each race. Alternatively, you could lay the bets on Betfair to break even or win either way.
