The Week in Review: July 30 - August 5 2018
BlackBook Bets
Week: -9.1 units profit (-68.9% PoT)
Overall: 286.0 units profit (7.8% PoT)
Lachlan has smashed it out of the park in recent weeks, so a little negative variance was probably overdue. Just the one winner this week – Lady Bing (Ipswich, Wednesday) – which we backed on the nose for a nice profit. No other joy for the week, but Lachlan remains within striking distance of the 300-unit milestone.
NSW Tips & Ratings
Week: 4.1 units profit (38.7% PoT)
Overall: 93.2 units profit (17.6% PoT)
The ultra-consistent returns from Mark continued this week. Just the ten horses backed across the week, with three winners – Sweet Scandal (Warwick Farm, Wednesday), Royal Hootenay (Hawkesbury, Thursday) and the super-impressive Soothing (Randwick, Saturday). Mark’s machine-like consistency has him nearing the 100-unit profit barrier with Winning Edge in well less than a year.
John's Analytics
Week: 1.6 units profit (20.3% PoT)
Overall: 190.2 units profit (13.8% PoT)
Back on the winners list! We’ve battled some variance in recent times so it was nice to stablise this week and put some profit back on the board. Mostly win bets this week, with winners in Reserve Street (Pakenham, Thursday), Alot Like Home (Coffs Harbour, Thursday), Gold Runner (Kempsey, Saturday) and Gee Gees Jet (Devonport, Sunday).
NRL Tips
Week: 4.7 units profit (32.5% PoT)
Overall: 31.0 units profit (1.4% PoT)
Very good week on the League this week! We had six bets, all at the line, and scored on four of them to deliver nice profit of nearly five units. Canterbury, South Sydney, New Zealand and Manly all did the job for us.
Golf
Week: -0.7 units profit (-100% PoT)
Overall: 44.3 units profit (16.0% PoT)
Very small betting week this week, with just the five plays. Zac Blair (Barracuda Championship) and Patton Kizzaire (Bridgestone Classic) went well for us as we continue the hunt for a next huge winner.
AFL Tips
Week: -5.2 units profit (-42.2% PoT)
Overall: 9.8 units profit (6.7% PoT)
A poor week this week. Just three of our nine bets saluted which left us with a five-unit loss, and undid a bit of our good work of recent times. Adelaide (H2H and line) and Sydney (H2H) did the job for us.
Cricket
Week: 1.3 units profit (33.9% PoT)
Overall: 62.3 units profit (7.3% PoT)
Another great week for Dave, who just keeps finding value in a quiet time of the year. We had three bets on the first test between England and India – Stokes Player Points and laying India got us the chocolates.
