#WATips Cameron O'Brien's Kingston Town Classic
WA TIPS & RATINGS PREVIEW
Full-time professional punter Cameron O’Brien heads up the WA Tips & Ratings service for Winning Edge Investments and gives his expert insight into Saturday’s Group 1 Kingston Town Stakes at Ascot. Perth Carnival time is a proven money-maker for our WA guru. This time last year members profits soared to make 61 units profit ($6,100 profit for a 100-unit member in just four months - Dec to Mar). Cameron is again firing this carnival, finding Zenaze last weekend on Winterbottom Stakes day, and backing up with winning days this week at Ascot and Bunbury.

HORSE NAME |
RATED PRICE |
COMMENT |
GAILO CHOP |
$15.8 |
9yo now, went to his current best when wide in the Underwood, maps well here but may be better with a little cut out too |
GATTING |
$6.6 |
Just OK in his two runs back in the west, maps well though and on his day can pull out a big figure |
TALLY |
$59.0 |
Good at Rosehill two back but disappointeed here in the Carbine Club, inconsistent |
STAR EXHIBIT |
$15.8 |
Big win resuming over an unsuitable trip then a flat one 2nd up, he wants further than this again for his top but third up suited, drawn wide so goes back is a prob |
BEST OF DAYS |
$8.2 |
Suited up to the 1800m, he closed it out solidly LST and rated well, just needs a clear passage |
ACHERNAR STAR |
$30.6 |
Racing well and at his top but drawn the widest and will need a ripping ride to get in |
PACODALI |
$30.6 |
Three weeks off and travelled since winning the Eclipse at Sandown, drawn wide but I map him getting in, first look Ascot |
REGAL POWER |
$10.9 |
Strong win from near last in the Railway, the extra 200m suits and he should be fitter again |
THE VELVET KING |
$32.6 |
Gets his own way in front here but a big query the 1800m for me |
PLATOON |
$32.6 |
Closed it out well but found the winner too good in the Railway, and that is his top for mine |
MISSISSIPPI DELTA |
$31.7 |
Won courtesy of the heavens opening first up 1500m and went to a new top there, needs more though |
DIG DEEP |
$24.9 |
3yo, on the up, needs a lot but we haven't seen his top yet |
JERICHO MISSILE |
$31.0 |
Another 3yo on the up but I think he just needs too much |
SUPERSTORM |
$20.0 |
Talented galloper who will get further in time, haven't seen his top yet, maps better |
KAY CEE |
$32.1 |
She's racing well but pretty much at her top for mine, can't really see a new level |

CAMERON’S VERDICT
A good race, the Kingston Town, it usually is. There are a few key winning hopes for mine, chiefly the top 6 in my market. I think TUSCAN QUEEN is unders, though deserved top rater. big value in the enigmatic GATTING for mine, and might be value in BEST OF DAYS and REGAL POWER too.
