Small loss on Wednesday at Warwick Farm, our one bet Eighteen Carrot had no luck in running at $8. One race for one winner on Thursday with Wiener Waltz recording a tough win at $4.40. Huge day on Saturday with two big results big results from Hush Writer at $27 ($35 Betfair SP) and Winning Ways at $25 ($41 available).

Nice week with 27u profit at 210% POT. Reasonably quiet week but the targeted approach is working well. No luck for our only bet on Wednesday caught wide without cover, our one betting race on Thursday had a winner with Wiener Waltz, and on Saturday we had two big winners from limited betting races with Hush Writer winning the W J McKell Cup & Winning Ways taking out the Queensland Oaks. Hush Writer paid $35 Betfair SP and Winning Ways got out to $41 with bookies and $38 on Betfair. Great to land a number of big winners over the past couple of weeks.

Great day to kick off the week on Thursday landing a $3.33 double at Dapto. Good day Friday landing another double, this time at Richmond paying $2.30. A loss on Saturday night, we locked in some great prices but were unable to get a result. We sit at a massive 360 units profit over the past 9 months.

It was a good start to the week on Thursday night with Penrith proving too strong for Manly. We finished up even on Friday night. Parramatta proved too good for South Sydney but we had something on the game total over 38.5. A loss on Sunday with North Queensland narrowly defeating Gold Coast. 21.3% POT past 6 weeks since amending selection filtering methodology.

A loss on Friday night with North Melbourne defeating Richmond. Winning day on Saturday with Fremantle +34.5 saluting with ease, we also took aim at Adelaide H2H and 1-39. Minor loss Sunday, Essendon covered the line for us against Carlton but the 1-39 just missed with Essendon winning by 41 points. 20% POT in the past 4 weeks.

Small loss on Saturday. Winners were Reelem In Ruby at $2.10 and My Demetra at $3.90. Minor loss on Sunday at Pinjarra to close out a quiet week. Despite the losing week we sit at a massive 136 units profit over the past 12 months.

3.83 units profit for the month. That takes us to 136.3 units profit for the past 12 months at 15.3% POT. Win bets were the majority of the profit at 23.8% POT.

Given the shifts in early markets due to Minimum Bet Law regulations and the Point Of Consumption tax etc, place betting (particularly on those shorter in the market) is not as profitable as it used to be. Hence win betting will become the majority of investments, with place betting reserved to when there is substantial value.

Losing day at Newcastle on Tuesday, Vinci Lady was heavily backed but was unable to get the job done for us. No result on Wednesday before a good result at Gosford on Thursday with Pop Girl saluting at $3.45. Losing day at Rosehill on Saturday; Rotator ran a narrow 2nd at $4.50.

Here's what Mark had to say:

Slipped back a little last week, giving back close to 4 units.  Pop Girl was a nice winner on Thursday, and Rotator a near miss at a nice price on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to get us into profit.  However, we ended May with a monthly result of over 18 units profit, which is more than acceptable.  Although we start June slightly behind, there should be plenty of opportunities this week and moving into the long weekend.

No result across Tuesday and Wednesday before a profitable Thursday with both each way plays filling a place; Equiamico at $11 and Blazing Steel at $12. Winning day on Friday driven by a good result off Attila at $6.50. On Saturday Can’t Be Done ran a close 2nd at $9.50. No result Sunday. We continue to lock in great prices with big firmers but the results just didn’t go our way this week. Despite the losing week Model 5 has delivered 17.5 units profit in under 15 weeks.
